Community Involvement

To grow and prosper, communities require care. It is the work of many hands ... sharing many talents, many hours, and many gifts. Dave McAvoy and the members of The Boston Group share this commitment to the community in which they live and work, to make it a better place, to make a difference.

Among the most valued gifts are those that cultivate knowledge. When we educate others—to multiply fractions, nurture children, enter the workplace, or appreciate the arts—we enrich the entire community by enriching its members. One generation teaches the next the importance of healthy minds, bodies, and spirits.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB)
BBBSMA is dedicated to providing little moments of magic to deserving children by engaging caring adult volunteers.

Brain Injury Association
The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIAMA) is to educate, advocate, support and promote programs to prevent brain injury. The BIAMA is the voice of every Massachusetts resident who survives a brain injury as well as their caregivers and families. It works closely with its partners and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to ensure that appropriate services are available to survivors and their families.

United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB)
UWMB is a locally run chapter of the United Way of America (UWA). UWMB is one of the largest United Way organizations, serving 64 cities and towns across Eastern Massachusetts, and employing over 120 people. It supports a network of 259 non-profit agencies, and reviews these agencies each year to ensure they do the best possible work in the community. It also advocates for social issues, convenes community leaders from across all sectors to solve local human services problems, studies and addresses long-term solutions to emerging social challenges, and raises funds through workplace campaigns and individual donors.
