We know that building your own practice is difficult without help. As a financial representative with The Boston Group, you will be in business for yourself, but not by yourself. The Boston Group will provide you with support in your training and development, so you don’t have to do it alone.
New representatives receive initial industry and sales training as well as mentoring and joint work programs for hands-on experience. They have access to on-line education resources for polishing skills and keeping up to date on industry information as well as exposure to opportunities for ongoing career education and advanced professional designations to increase their knowledge and reputation.
Elizabeth Sidel, Director of Recruiting
A skilled and resourceful recruiter, Liz Sidel joined The Boston Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network (NMFN) in 2004. As Director of Recruiting, she not only identifies top-notch individuals suited for the position of financial representative, but also works closely with The Boston Group’s managing partner, recruiters, college unit directors and others involved with attracting talented individuals to the agency.
After graduating from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Liz worked in development and training in the non-profit sector, then began her career in the financial services industry in 2000. She was drawn to the dynamic people of The Boston Group and to the prospect of introducing sharp, motivated individuals to an exciting career that can be both personally and financially rewarding.
Away from the office, Liz co-chairs the Skidmore Business Network and devotes time to the Boston Public Library Foundation. She also enjoys travel, tennis and pilates whenever possible. A Greater Bostonian all her life, she currently resides in the city after growing up in the suburb of Wellesley, Mass.
Drew Goldsmith, Recruiter
Drew Goldsmith works with successful and talented individuals, introducing them to the exciting career opportunities at Northwestern Mutual. He is passionate about meeting and helping people. After graduating from the University of South Florida, in Tampa, FL, Drew began his career as a recruiter. He has experience recruiting and placing candidates within various disciplines, including the healthcare, financial, technology and sales sectors. When Drew is not in the office, he can be found running around South Boston with his dog, enjoying the outdoors, and staying active. Born and raised in Dover, Massachusetts, he is a true New England sports fan and tries to attend as many Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics games as possible. |
